Course Description

Maintenance planning and scheduling is one of the fastest and most effective investments an organization can make to improve productivity and availability. The processes in this course pave the way for planning and control of maintenance resources. Equipment reliability is increased. Waiting times, unnecessary parts and inaccurate information are eliminated. Budgeting is easier and more accurate. Maintenance tasks are as much as 50% more efficient in terms of costs and time.

This three-day course examines topics including standard work processes, job estimation and prioritization, backlog management, job plan development, work scheduling and coordination. Other topics like tracking progress and supporting reliability engineers with equipment history and root cause analysis input are also covered. Participants engage in hands-on activities that build system-independent knowledge and skills they will be able to apply immediately.

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling is a elective course in the Maintenance Management Certification program.

The price for each 3-day course includes a comprehensive active learning manual. In person courses include lunch each day as well.  

Each completed course will earn 2.1 CEUs with a total of 8.4 CEUs for the certification program that are accepted and recognized by The Ohio State University, Life Cycle Institute and Certified Reliability Leaders.

This program is offered through a partnership with the Life Cycle Engineering and Institute

Cancellation and Refund Policy

A full refund, minus a $75 administrative fee, will be issued if cancellation is made more than 14 days before a training course date. No refunds will be issued after that time. Registrations can be transferred.

In the event that a course is rescheduled or canceled because enrollment numbers are not met, we reserve the right to offer complete refunds or reschedule for a more appropriate time frame. We will always work with our clients for a mutually agreeable solution.

About the Instructor

Nick Zika, headshot

Nicholas Zika is a maintenance strategy and implementation

leader with over 15 years’ experience in maintenance and reliability system installation and management. He has experience as a maintenance and operational manager in industries such as Department of Defense aviation, fluid power supply, paper manufacturing, and non-woven converting. He has extensive experience in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) training and implementation across multiple platforms, as well as roots in asset management, Lean-Six Sigma, materials management, planning and scheduling, and reliability principles. Nicholas is a proven leader driven by team-building and a passion for empowering others toward achieving their business and personal goals.

Nicholas is a Marine Corps veteran with aviation maintenance control “Safe for Flight” and Quality Assurance certifications.
